Well, whaddaya know, Spirit Airlines is having another
$9 Fare Club Sale. To take advantage of these fares, all you have to do is become a member of the $9 Fare Club. Members are notified of such sales via email and have first dibs on all the bargains. Not to mention, all members are automatically enrolled in the Free Spirit frequent flier program.
So what must one do to
join this club? Well, $9 will get you a 3-month trial membership, or pay $29.95 and join for a year. Or hey, avoid those membership fees altogether and get a Free Spirit MasterCard. Membership is complimentary for those who use their card atleast once a month.
Often times, with sales like these, it can be a real pain to try and string together two of these one-way sale fares and make a round-trip, simply because the departure and return dates don't match up. Not so with these $9 Fare Club Sales. The dates are pretty straight forward, and you can easily book yourself a nice 3 or 4 day trip.
This $9 Fare Club Sale expires at midnight, May 25, so you want to hurry.
The $9 fare club is such a scam!! I flew Spirit in the summer of 07 once on a three hundred ticket- in Oct. of 08 a $40 charge shows up on my Amex from Spirit. It's for membership in the $9 fare club. No idea how I got enrolled- I booked my tix online and I suspect it was a negative checkoff that I failed ot uncheck and embedded in the fine print is this annual fee. If you aren't reading your statements carefully you will not see it. To add insult to injury- there is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE number. Only reservation agents in India who parrot the phrase 'you must write a letter'. My guess is that they have had sooo many people ticked off about this scam (or their crappy service in general) they purposefully don't have a number. We will see if my letter actually gets me out of this club on the first try...
