Cheapest European fare of the moment

Fares from Washington DC:

There's no telling how long this will last, but a good strategy for crossing the Atlantic by air this spring and summer is to fly Delta from JFK to Shannon, Ireland. Currently, we're seeing fares on this nonstop route in the mid-500's, with tax, for June travel, and about $680 RT with tax in July. From Shannon, you can hop onto Ryanair and travel to dozens of places in Europe for as little as $1 plus tax each way. Yes, those deals are limited, but even Ryanair's normal fares are dirt cheap.
