Summer Business Class Fares

Fares from Washington DC:

Most people think that business class to Europe costs $5000 or more round-trip, and during peak business travel times, it does. But in the summer, when the suits are on vacation in the Hamptons and on the Vineyard, fares go down. Lufthansa and Continental are both having sales with surprisingly low fares of under $2000-3000 RT from the US to Europe, and even if they're not advertising them, other airlines are matching. Considering that you'll pay over $1000 or more for economy to Europe, the price difference between coach crunch and business class has diminished. In most cases you must stay at least a week and no more than 30 days, although rules vary with airline and route. Continental requires a 60 day advance purchase.
