For those looking to bulk up on points, British Airways and Chase have extended a snazzy little offer to new cardholders. Earn 50,000 bonus Avios after making your first purchase, as well as 25,000 Avios after spending $10,000 within the first year, and an additional 25,000 Avios after spending $20,000 within the first year. That's 100,000 points total within the first year.

You'll also receive 2.5 Avios for every dollar spent on all British Airways purchases, as well as 1.25 miles for every dollar you spend. Spend $30,000 in a year and receive a "travel together ticket" on British Airways (subject, of course, to taxes and fees, which can often be pretty hefty for travel to the UK), valid for 2 years. 

Better still, there are no foreign transaction fees, and - our favorite- this card features "smart chip technology" as opposed to the outdated magnetic strip, which will save you the embarrassment of having your transaction declined the next time you attempt to buy a coffee in Sweden.
