I had surgery in toronto returning back to New Brunswick 5 days after surger, the team in Toronto Island airport were fantastic, the team in Montreal was down right rude and totally useless, They got me in a wheel chair after coming down the plane s stairs and she had the nerve of throwing my carry ons plus purse on my lap hitting my stomach where I had just had surgery, she wheeled me to the gate and I sat there for four hours waiting for my flight east with not one person asking if I needed anything at all. When it was time to get on flight they came over and asked me to walk out to the plane, I refused as I was unable to do this and why I sat in a wheel chair for four hours, the service was terrible and anyone having to travel with medical assistance be careful in Montreal as they have no respect for the sick.please remember this complaint was from montreal not the toronto airport

I cannot begin to list the horrible things that happened to me involving air canada. From an eight hour flight turning into a fifteen hour flight, from not receiving any compensation and having to sleep on the airport floor along with being treated with massive amounts of disrespect it is needless to say I will never fly with air canada again. Oh and if you miss your connecting flight because you arrive late good luck with re-booking your flight yourself because nobody in the Toronto airport will help you.

While traveling on Air Canada for business they took my carry on because the plane was over crowded, not because of my carry on size. That was Monday morning....I didn't see my bag again until Friday at 1:30am when I had to pay the airport to deliver it to me. In the interim while working with Air Canada on the phone the agents were nothing but rude, condescending and assumptive. I can not verbalize my disgust and I hope nobody has to fly this airline. 4 day trip and had to purchase 2 sets of clothes and they only reimburse you $100 ($30 of which used to get my bag back)

My disappointing experience with an Air Canada holiday package made me decide not to buy again. To put it mildly, accommodations were less than acceptable, the rooms smelled mouldy, the tennis court was covered in broken glass, meals featured frozen foods with hardly any fresh vegetables and fruits, and there was nobody from Air Canada available to discuss the complaint either during the holiday or after the trip. When our family decided to leave and abandon our rooms the hotel's manager shrugged and gave us slightly cleaner rooms and offered a special table with a view in the hotel's not very good restaurant. A complete refund in the form of a replacement holiday would have made me happy. An apology would have been nice, but I never even got to speak to anyone. I'm still waiting for that apology via a phone call or an email. Air Canada needs to pick up the pace if it wants to stay in business.

I fly this route on a regular basis, 2 or 3 times a month, and I couldn't enjoy the service provided by Air Canada more. The E-90 (my favourite plane) is new and ALWAYS clean (unlike the dirty, smelly old 737's WestJet flies). The E-90 seat is VERY comfortable and the attendants do what they can to make it a most enjoyable flight. The fresh baked cookies were a nice little touch as was the Earl Grey tea. I am an Air Canada fan, I know many aren't, but the ratio of good flights to troublesome is outstandingly low. A+++ rating from me to Air Canada...

More attention needed to be paid to the line up building when only one attendant was checking people in. Once aboard though I was so surprised to find a happy crew all were pleasant and accomadating. This change in attitude was long over due. Anyone I know including myself has found the staff to be, well, ignorant to passengers. Are they happy because they are getting ready to go on strike?

My flight was at 7am back to Toronto, unfortunately that day there was a blizzard in mid-April. They loaded passengers on time, yet there was at least a foot of snow on the wings still. Then once we were all seated they announced a 30 minute delay due to runways needing to be plowed. At the 45 min mark, they said we can't move because a plane is blocking us. At the 1 & 15 min mark, they said we needed to now be de-iced. (Why didn't they do this as we sat idle for over an hour? I don't know!) Meanwhile, lucky for me, I ate a Tim's breakfast sandwich before the flight so I wasn't hungry, BUT they only came around and offered water. No drinks, no crackers or cookies as an "i'm sorry" service. They made people cough out their credit cards and buy their $9 sandwiches. I was really unimpressed with their customer service. We finally left at 9:30am, 2 1/2 hours later. No complimentary cookies for those of us who didn't have our credit cards on us (forgot mine!) They could have really avoided the situation had they not loaded into the plane, and just delayed the flight and announced while we were waiting in the lobby. People would have had time to stretch, eat, make their phone calls etc. To top it off, I was so late, I missed my shift at work causing me to take an additional day off.

the flight was pleasant over all. Airplane was clean, seats were comfortable and flight attendants were pleasant. Seats have improved over last while :)
i would say the worst part of the experience is booking the flight. If unable to book online, the wait times for the phones is outrageous!!

We flew from Moncton, NB to Kelowna, BC stopping in Toronto and Calgary. Return trip was from Kelowna, BC with stops in Vancouver and Montreal. Flight attendants were friendly and timing was always on time. Would recommend Air Canada without any hesitation. Great trip.

The Flight
AC546 YYC to LAS March 26, 2011
Check-in Arrived at airport 1Hr. 45Min. prior to flight. Waited 35 minutes in line (in Executive) while agents sort out stuff with other traveller. Compared to Economy wait times, just marginally better. Grade – FAIL (note: many unhappy Executive Class Travellers)(Also did WEB Check-In from home to help speed up check-in time)
Departure Time – 90 minutes late due to weather and plane de-icing. Grade – Unavoidable
In Flight Service – Very Good. Meal of pancakes was dry on one end. Seating good. Grade – 6/10
Arrival in LAS – Had to stay seated while they removed passengers from the rear of the plane so as they could possibly make their connecting flights.
Baggage Claim – Retreval of baggage went very well. 9/10

Check-in Arrive at airport 1Hr. 55 Min. prior to flight. Very smooth. Check in takes 2 minutes. Grade 10/10
Departure Time – 100 minutes late due to weather in previous destinations. Grade – Unavoidable
In Flight Service – Very Good. Meal of beef and potatoes was good. Seating good. Grade – 7/10
Arrival in YYC - Had to stay seated while they removed passengers from the rear of the plane so as they could possibly make their connecting flights.
Baggage Claim – Cleared Customs and waited for baggage. Saw people who were cleared from plane still waiting for their luggage. Waited in baggage area 35 minutes before luggage showed up. Flight landed at 11:08 and luggage retrieved at 11:55. Grade – FAIL
Had to pay an additional fee at the airport parking lot because they allow you ½ hour for passenger pick-up, and we spent 35 minutes after clearing Canada Customs to retrieve baggage.
Comparisons drawn between flying Executive Class and Economy show little difference other than a roomy seat with a warm meal. Comparisons drawn between airfare prices show a much greater discrepancy. Throw in a couple of drinks and I hardly think that makes up the difference between Executive Class and Coach seat value.

Pleasant and friendly personnel. Flights were on time. Check-in was fast and efficient. Movie and music selections were good. Selection of red and white wine were included in the meal. Snack selection could be improved.

Flying from Cancun to Regina Sk we had a 9 hour layover in Toronto from 11:30 PM to 8:30 AM. I could not believe that a terrific airport like Toronto International would not have any bench seats for people to lay on when they have long waits between flights. Not ONE bench seat was to be had. Therefore we were forced to sleep sitting up in very uncomfortable single chair seats with arms separating each seat for 9 hours. We were totally exhausted by the time we finally got home.
As for the airline it was great.

old plane, no TV's just a projector screen that didn't work. the way back on our flight it was the same rickety plane. Showed Harry Potter and then some old Gene Wilder 1950's movie (black and white).
Seriously, what are you people thinking?
Also, another hint, take a cue from Lufthansa - have a "family and kids section" instead of having them all mixed in with couples. Very long, trying trip listening to kids screaming!

On the way to Montreal we used a check in agent for our boarding pass. He sat my husband & I together. On the way home the helpful lady beside the boarding pass kiosk insisted we use the machine & we couldn't get seats together...the couple traveling with us used the machine a few minutes after us & had no trouble getting seats together. The not so helpful kiosk lady told us to speak to the people at the boarding gate & they might do something...seems weird how the seats fill & empty randomly.

I like Air Canada now as the movies are free and Westjet is not. Westjet is a good airline as well but AC and WJ match their prices exactly so if I have a choice I will go with the free movies for the same dollar.
