Does anyone know extra costs airlines have for ski bags. Some flights may be cheaper than others but cost of bags may make flight more expensive. Looking to go Philadelphia to Salt Lake City.

THERE ARE SOME FACTORS IN CHECKING LARGER BAGS. FOR INSTANCE, IS THIS YOUR ONLY BAG? SOME AIRLINES WILL ALLOW YOU TO CHECK ONE BAG FOR FREE AND SOME CHARGE FOR YOUR FIRST CHECKED BAG. ALSO, HOW MUCH DOES THE BAG WEIGH? ANYTHING OVER 50 POUNDS IS GENERALLY AN ADDITIONAL COST, EVEN IF IT IS YOUR ONLY CHECKED BAG.

WE'VE FOUND THAT SHIPPING GOLF CLUBS VIA UPS IS LESS EXPENSIVE AND LESS OF A HASSLE THAN CHECKING THEM. I WOULD LOOK AT THAT AS AN OPTION AS WELL.

thanks Amanda. May look into the ups shipping. Will be carrying one bag plus ski bag.
No charge on Southwest.
