Looking to go from PHX to ABE, nov 28- dec 6 2008, Been watching a fare of $513.00 for a few days. Since I'm not a frequent flyer, is it better to purchase the ticket now or should I wait. I know I can get a better price but I would rather have a layover in Charlotte than Chicago this time of the year.

Do you have to fly into Allentown??? Much cheaper if you fly into Newark or Philly. Allentown could be one of those smaller airports that gets the nix from NWA or US if oil prices surge and you'd be sorry. (I'm boo-hoo-ing over PVD loosing it's AA service to ORD.......) Somehow PHX to ABE for $513 is obscene.............please, go to Philly or Newark!

Yes Allentown it is. My family lives there and with the cost of gas, I hate to have them come far to pick me up. Or if I use a rental car, which I do most of the time, it would probably cost the same of more. My daughter will be having a baby a few days after so I can't have her travel the 130 plus mile round trip to pick me up. So yep Allentown it is, and crossing my fingers they don't go belly up!!!

Since airfares change daily, you could keep watching it OR purchase it and then if it goes down, request vouchers for the difference in fare. Don't count on getting it though. This is just a suggestion.
