| Hi. I am travelling from New Orleans to Munich in a few weeks and I found out today that I received a job offer and need to be back a day sooner than when I scheduled to return and into Syracuse or Albany, New York instead of New Orleans. I leave on July 9 and fly back on July 31 but would like to leave on the 30th. I spoke to my travel agent and she said that I would have to pay a 150 fee plus change in fares which would be over a thousand dollars. My original ticket cost 800. I tried to call the airline directly instead of going through my travel agent (who told me to just miss my connection and get a cheaper flight to my destination which she said wasn't exactly legal) but the airline said they can't speak to me because I booked with a travel agent. Is there anyway to get around all of this without paying a fortune? Any advice? thanks

| | Yep, do as instructed. Get a one-way from SYR or ALB back. Make SURE you cancel out the original return BEFORE the flight departs. Otherwise you'll get on a TSA no-fly list. Just simply call and say you need to cancel and will not be on the flight. No explanation needed. They may offer you a voucher for the unused portion. Try for that. | | | |
