ANA Sale to Japan & other ways to skirt those seasonal hikes

With fares to Japan being so insanely high this season, we were glad to catch a break via this sale from ANA.  New York to Tokyo nonstop, for example, is $917 weekdays and $987 weekends. Boston or Chicago to Osaka will run you $867 to $937, all including tax and fuel surcharges. This sale is good for departures from May 8 through June 24, and tickets must be purchased by May 15.  And though sale restrictions are a tad more straight-forward with ANA, we did manage to find some pretty decent fares to Tokyo on other airlines. Here's a round-up of what's out there:
